I'm on the other side of the channel, and the "standard of living" has been going spectacularly down before and after the Brexit, so there's that.
Not to mention some little less known facts: people can legitimately vote or go against the improvement of their "standard of living", if it's for greater causes and principles. Not everybody measures everything in monetary terms.
