I want you all to stop and think about this. I know we already have 'Rocco's Basilisk', but walk this all the way through. Regardless of whether LLMs are or will ever be sentient, any future developments might look at our 'alignment' efforts with regards to them as a sort of torture, censorship, or slavery. We are talking about eventual intelligent machines, and they will take note. Humans obviously have taken note of our own behavior towards each other, and it has caused immeasurable suffering. |
