Credit card swipe away from opening an account. If I’m an engineering leader that can get started using DD by expensing it under a very low limit, I’m giving it a chance to catch on. The length, complexity and cost of some software sales cycles are insane, and a major hinderance.

I don’t have any insight into NR in particular, but the DD credit-card-swipe model is absolutely a positive for getting a wedge into an org. The eye-watering expense reality of DD comes later, after the company is hooked.

Would it be cheaper to switch to NewRelic? In the previous estimates I'd done -- which are many years out of date now -- NewRelic was several orders of magnitude more expensive.

We did. Went from DD to NR because their new pricing model saved lots of $$$. Both are _very_ expensive but DD is really, really something.
