The craziest shrinkflation for me has been loaves of bread. I have a toaster press thing where you place two slices of buttered bread with some cheese or something in between and then you compress it all between two heated plates. The appliance is about 10+ years old now.

The bread used to be too large for the appliance and would spill out the edges making the press 'crimp' the bread so all the liquid cheese would stay within. Nowadays the bread I place inside does not even cover 4/5ths of the plate. Feels like a 30-40% reduction in area of my bread and its like 2x as expensive. The cheese spills out the side and causes big cleanup problems.

The west has fallen.
