The idea of "bot" interfaces like this (as opposed to what's termed "direct manipulation" UI) go back a long time, and are subject to quite a bit of debate in the field of usability. The issues are summed up here pretty well, but it will be interesting to see how long the issues persist as (or if!) I think as with most things, there is probably a complementary relationship which depends heavily on the context of use. Whether the context in the case of a resume for a hiring manager is any good I'm not really able to say.
