there isn't any carbon or water in earth's core hydrocarbons are energetically stable on titan because it's oxygen-deficient, a reducing environment. earth's surface is, by contrast, an oxidizing environment the deep hot biosphere is unrelated abiogenic petroleum prooduction is still not as well understood as you suggest |
