So meta got in trouble for not having the personal ads opt out by default, so they have to ask their users to opt in.

But instead of it just being opt in, the options are effectively

1. Opt in 2. Quit 3. Pay

I'm not sure that's quite right. There is effectively no "I want to see ads, but you cannot use my data to target"

Am I wrong?

Agree... That's what really rubs me the wrong way about it.

I also feel like, 'opt in' probably opens a user up to even more 'creepy stuff' than is already happening.
