They didn't generate anything, but they did capitalize on the self inflicted LMG drama

how is that self inflicting? dude made a hour long video intentionally trying to start drama and get views lol. if he sent an email there would be no drama its definitely not self inflicted. but hey i mean drama was the main point. good for him hes good at what he does
anyone got a tldr of drama?
LMG made a series of videos with significant errors that weren't corrected showing a sloppy work ethic. There seems to be a lot of workplace pressure and overwork. The main issue however was that they auctioned off a prototype GPU waterblock from a small company that had loaned them it to test after agreeing to send it back. LMG completely butcher the review putting it on the wrong GPU model and then slammed the product when it didn't work and GamersNexus reported on it all. In response Linus wrote a horrendous forum post failing to acknowledge they did wrong containing a bunch of statements that within days were determined to be not true. Ultimately they ended up a few days later with all the senior staff in a video explaining how they would fix their culture and they froze making videos for a while.

and the follow up on Linus' forum post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3byz3txpso&pp=ygURR2FtZXJzT...

LMG's "apology" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cTpTMl8kFY&t=1s&pp=ygUXbGlu...

There is also a sexual assault claim as well from an ex employee, its not surprisingly now being handled by lawyers and we haven't I think heard of a resolution to that.

> that had loaned them it to test

No they gave it to LMG to test, then asked for it back which is the source of the miscommunication

From vague memory; he did something dumb and doubled down on it?
