Yeah, well, the US is literally never giving up Diego Garcia, furthermore, I don't think the British will, either. It is a strategically important base for several reasons.

I don't see any reason why the Chagossians would have a valid legal claim over the .io ccTLS, seeing as the British Crown has dominion over the territory and leases it to the U.S.

In international relations, traditionally, might makes right. We are trying to get over this as a species (hence why these trials are even allowed to run), but we're still a way off.
