"Insane" is par for the course when talking about existential threats. I expect you don't believe there are existential threats from AI capabilities research, so anyone planning around them will look insane. To me, it's insane to say the threats can't exist. (I'm not endorsing this regulation. It's not at all clear than any regulation could be helpful. As you say, these regulations aren't going to slow non-US research efforts.) |
