I wonder if an iPhone having 8GB of DRAM is a testament to how far we've come, or how stingy Apple is when it comes to the desktop/laptop lineups.

8GB is good, but not a technical limitation for mobile chips anymore. More LPDDR5X is peanuts in a $1400 phone.
