There is a subtle difference between laynames and technical math names. Lay names have nouns and verbs separate: a number may be multiplied. They are data and functions in programming terms. But in math terms this is combination is also a noun, a group. Many lay terms that appear to only be data but actually have an implied mathematical operation. |
