Probably not what you are looking for, but being non religious and ignorant myself on those topics, I was able to grasp a lot and get to details very quickly through ChatGPT. Things like discussing the disagreements among catholics with the counter-reformation, more nuanced differences between christian denominations, philosophical parallels between western and non-abrahamic, main ethical systems and so on. Since I had noone to talk about these things, and the fact it provides a lot of historical data that I can double check myself, made it very valuable.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve actually done this as well with impressive results. I started to become wary of hallucinations about more obscure topics, but I agree it’s very valuable.

You’re right though I’m looking for something more. I guess I’m looking for a macro-theological “church” and I’m not sure if that exists.
