I used to live where it was endemic to western black-legged ticks since the 80's, the tiny ones that carry LD. If ticks are that much of a problem there, I would look into the Lyme PrEP clinical trial. LD is nothing to fuck with due to the neurological decline it can cause. Thankfully, cats are unlikely to catch it so I hope they're okay. Clarification: ridding ticks or riding large mammals? PS: I think chiggers are worse because (I at least) can't see them and they can transferred simply by walking across an infested, short cut lawn. |
