To me, as a business owner, your statements contain no valid arguments. It's highly likely you just work two to three times less than what your employer expects of you. You're paid a salary for your time, not for the work done. If you're ready to work on a project basis, regardless of time, then go freelance without a stable income. If you want financial stability in employment, comply with your employer's demands. It's that simple.

You claim you want to "weed out the lazy and deceitful, thereby forming a healthy and efficient team." So you use surveillance because you have no trust. Can you imagine how it feels to be under permanent surveillance and need of justification when you know the video's purpose is to catch you slacking off and fire you? There is a reason why there are strict laws, clubs and unions that protect people from being turned into mere wage slaves just because a business owner wants to squeeze the most out of them and throw them away once there are signs of a burnout.

You can't force someone to smile forever.
