The idea of surviving a nuclear war is analogous to a “who can stay in a tub of boiling water for the longest” contest. You might win the contest but you’re sure as hell still going to die. The nuclear winter that follows a nuclear war will bring humanity back to the Stone Age. We really need to disabuse ourselves of the notion of “surviving a nuclear war”. “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
