While we're all mentioning alternatives, I use croc quite a lot, which is good when sender and receiver are on different networks.

This is similar to magic-warmhole[^1] but has the added plus of being written in golang, which means one doesn't have to install multiple packages, just one binary. Thanks for sharing.

If you want go, there is a magic-wormhole implementation called wormhole-william [1].

Rymdport [2] is a decent cross-platform app using it.
