That's a Leslie speaker in the video, it doesn't operate on the same principle. Leslie speakers creates sound using a conventional vibrating membrane, whereas the rotary woofer does so by using a variable pitch fan. The rotating part effectively changes the geometry of the baffle, creating a tremolo effect. For the rotary woofer, the whole room acts as a baffle. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_speaker |
