It seems a bit like having a human face off in a race against a car and then concluding that cars have exceeded human physical dexterity. It's not an apples/apples comparison. The nature of the capability profile of a human vs. any known machine is radically different. Machines are intentionally designed to have extreme peaks of performance in narrow areas. Present-generation AI might be wider in its capabilities than what we've previously built, but it's still rather narrow as you quickly discover if you start trying to use it on real tasks. |
