I experienced the same thing in another aspect of my life.
My light switches at home can't light the room with just one switch for some reason.
Each time I want to enter a room, I have to write LIT in morse with the switch.
It was a bit weird at the beginning but now I got used to the pattern and I can do it under two seconds and I have not noticed any discomfort.
