Ask HN: People interested in a dev toolbox for back end / DevOps?
2 points by impsy_fr 990 days ago
I see a lot of app toolbox like devutils.com and devtoys.app but I feel like it's often more for fullstack / frontend than backend / devops work (I know that devops is not a job, but LinkedIn disagree with that stand)

I'm talking about: - decoding format like zstd, snappy, protobuf - inspecting docker / helm registry - linting github / gitlab actions - ???

Do yo feel like it would be useful to create something like that or is it now obsolete with current IDE and lsp extensions ?

It sounds like you don’t understand the breadth of what “devops” people get asked to do.
It's actually my job so kinda

But please enlighten us :)

What actions would you want to run from a tool like that: network actions (dns ? port inspection ?), bash / Makefile script linting ?
