Don't worry, from experience I can assure you people will have the same reaction to the latter as well. The typical argument is that "the poors" will have tons children just to cash out and we can't have that can we. I believe (anecdotally) that the rate of unwanted pregnancies are not impacted significantly by economic measures, only by ease of access to free birth control measures and widespread sex education, but it's an unpopular opinion. Welfare from the state is always a hard sell unless it benefits a vocal, influential segment. |
