I wonder how much money they currently make, but it looks like they're going the YouTube/Reddit path where they expect the paid user to pay much more than the money they currently make from ads. Edit: indeed they are[1] I'm not sure why they're doing that but I suspect they don't really want people to move to the paid/ad-free plan so they charge a premium for that.
