Ask HN: Does iOS 17 automatically record screens when updating software?

When I started the update process in order to install iOS 17.0.2, the screen recording red light appeared on my screen. Does it mean iPhones now automatically record screens when downloading and installing new software? I was on iOS 17.0.1 when this happened.

What sense would it make to record an screen that outputs only information that is already written to logs?
