In my twenty years in the field, I’ve never met a packer. Every engineer I’ve worked with, from college hires onward, is constantly building a map of the world in their head and I see it in their code. The problem is either that they don’t realize what lands exist beyond their map, or they recognize that there have to be edges of their map to be able to be an expert in something.
