Tl;Dr: because everyone wants to get obscenely rich from doing it. Fair enough. I guess the whole start-up billionaire phenomenon thing has changed people's outlook (Google, Facebook, Minecraft etc). Understandably everyone wants to do something once, make a huge pile of money from it, and then never have to work again. Personally I'd be quite happy to work on a game for a month as a vacation-project/side-project and "only" make 15k from it. |
