This is genuinely terrible for people living in the UK who care about their privacy and freedom on the internet. I do wonder whether this bill was caused by sincere misunderstanding of how tech works on the part of the legislators or, more cynically, a government agenda to crush privacy on the internet. Either way, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. |
