US National Debt is effectively a number indicating how much money the US (is going to) print. Being the strongest country in the world doesn't mean you can print an arbitrary amount of money. Well you technically can, but everyone (US citizens included) pays the price. And other countries won't play along forever if it means they're going to pay more than what they got from a USD-centric international trading system. |
