When our BBC crashed with the message "Sideways RAM required" my kid brother tried whacking the side of the case. Didn't work unfortunately.

Friend of mine wrapped the expansion bus on his Electron in silver foil. I've no idea what possessed him, but I do know it never ran again.

Just looked it up, and it had 18V AC on pins 1 and 2. So yeah, a kit kat wrapper will do that.
