Show HN: Free Custom Branding at RabbitSign (rabbitsign.com)
2 points by qpwoeirut 1015 days ago
Hi HN,

I’m Stanley, founder of RabbitSign, an unlimited free e-signing service. (Not just a free trial or a free tier—completely free.) We launched this service in response to the increased demand for e-signing during the COVID pandemic, prioritizing social good over profits.

RabbitSign recently launched Custom Branding, a feature that empowers users to personalize their signing requests with their own logos. Custom Branding is typically a paid feature for both e-signing services and platforms in other industries. We've decided to offer it for free, in line with our commitment to serving the social good ahead of making profits.

If you're curious about how RabbitSign remains sustainable as a free service, we've leveraged AWS Serverless technology, reducing the operating cost of processing 1000 document signings to less than $1. An AWS Well-Architected Review has even described RabbitSign as a "remarkably well-architected workload" and "one of the most efficient and secure accounts" they've ever reviewed. AWS will soon feature RabbitSign in a case study highlighting its efficient use of Serverless and compliance-related services.

Please feel free to reach out to stanley@rabbitsign.com if you have any questions or feedback!

Interesting that you can handle large loads with minimal cost ... but there's got to be a catch: how do you plan to fund this long-term ... out of the goodness of your heart?

Maybe that's the case (the founders of Telegram managed to run it "free" for a long time (though there are for-pay options now))

But knowing what your business plan is to keep it operational would be nice :)

We show a "dumb" ad at the end of each user flow, which is enough to make a fairly large profit margin. We're also currently working on API integrations, which will be paid but at a much lower cost (likely a few cents per document sent) than current market offerings (which are normally close to a dollar per document sent).
