Their three methods are all things I've employed for a long time and find to be fairly obvious, but I realize a lot of people don't employee even one of them. I use lateral leading extensively, even when the source seems reputable. Having multiple reputable sources before you spread that knowledge to others is important to your own credibility. Even with that understanding, I've had multiple people tell me that they don't have time for that and prefer to just believe whatever their preferred source tells them. I think that's where a lot of the problems with corporate media started; They knew their viewers/readers would believe anything they told them and abused that. |
