It's not even support for visual studio - it's a completely different product spun out of monodevelop they acquired with xamarin.

Anything xamarin related (MAUI, VS for Mac) is extreme level of garbage - such low standard of quality is really doing .NET/Visual Studio brands a disservice.

Seems that they've pretty much just bought Xamarin to kill it (besides actually properly porting .NET itself to other platforms which they could've done anyway). It seemed like a pretty cool product showing some promise 7-8 years ago.
