There's an opportunity cost to everything, so time spent writing for my blog could be spent elsewhere. Seeing friends, meeting new people, writing code, putting time into my job, researching whatever interests me... but it's my time, and I get to choose what I do with that time. You may not want to have a blog - it seems like you're asking for reasons not to have one. You don't have to have one if you just don't want to. You don't have to justify that decision to anyone but yourself.
