I read most of it during college and it taught me recursion and first class functions pretty well. The former helped me in my college classes and the latter in both college classes and at work. I picked up functional code faster than colleagues of the same age as me.

I don't think it "blew my mind" or opened up a new world to me though, but learning how to solve problems with basic tools was fun.
