It looks to me that rich celebrities have to spend vast amounts on security. They can't go to the beach; can't go to the supermarket; can't in fact do anything normal.

Some very rich folk I know are discreet with their wealth. If they were show-offs they'd need lots of security, but nobody knows them so nobody tries to take their things or hurt them.

The operative word here is 'celebrities'. Normal rich people are unknown, and most of them aren't showy. They're just the ones quietly flying first-class instead of 'economy'.
