I think the crux of the point Smudge was making with the analogy to Reddit and subreddits is that it won't hurt anyone to have a long tail of stackexchange sites, which might still be useful to a small number of people. This is similar to Wikipedia's deletionist stance on content, but worse because it doesn't even give a long tail forum a chance to get started. |
