In a world of changing requirements it can be difficult to know what the right abstraction is going to be. I am happy to accept some duplication early in the development cycle until the requirements have settled. Only then it's possible to go back and refactor (which admittedly doesn't always happen in practice). I believe duplication should raise eyebrows but it can be justified. |
