from my last hiring experiences (frontend dev): people are not aware of underlying technologies. Frameworks is all now.

I partially understand that people might not be interested in the details of how things works. This makes them stuck on non-trivial tasks, but whatever.

One thing I don't understand - they no longer search for "interview questions" anymore before interview.

I was always avoiding such questions, because I felt the answers were memorized word by word, but now asking about basic concepts means no/wrong aswer.

I hope that's only the case in the frontend world, where things "don't matter" that much.
