Reason not mentioned in the comments already there: NVIDIA has explicitly stated in the past that a lot of the graphical performance in games is expected to come from DLSS. You may have noticed that the raw power of cards is not going up as much as it used to (especially on the lower end), well NVIDIA is arguing that the performance gains will be made up by DLSS. When it was initially released it required a lot of interaction between NVIDIA and the developer to fine tune the model to the particular game, and most didn't care enough to do it. Now I think there are some ways for developers to mess around with DLSS on their own but due to the state of modern game development most simply don't care enough about it. So a supposedly very large advantage of NVIDIA cards simply doesn't exist in most titles as of today(most titles do have the DLSS option in the settings, but in about 80% of the titles the differences are negligible). |
