Used to use Launchy loads a few years ago, brilliant little program, moved on the Executor http://executor.dk/ for a bit more power (keyboard shortcuts specifically). Launchy may have updated to compete since then though. I think this program could be particularly useful for Windows 8 and it's lack of start menu. |

You can just start typing on the start screen to search. All the previous shorcut keys also work.
