Reverse migration has already started. Many Indian students (who usually come with dual intent to study and settle down in Canada) are going back due to lack of opportunity and rising costs of living.
What's even more insane is Ukrainian War Refugees are returning to Ukraine saying life is easier/better even under constant bombing than in Canada. There are few good options, work is difficult to find, housing is beyond the reach of families, prices for food and fuel are astronomical and the future seems to hold no possibility of a better life.
Canada's largest city Toronto is a dysfunctional nightmare of pollution, traffic and over crowding. They continue to pack people into smaller areas without the infrastructure to support them. Hospitals that served 20k people now serve 200k people and are overwhelmed. Water, electric, roads, transportation are all stressed to a point where they can't keep it running normally. City Gov is useless and has done nothing for decades. As someone who considers myself quite well off, I find prices for everything in Toronto alarming. I spent a few months in Europe this summer and was very impressed with Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Poland and Ukraine. Some of these Eastern European countries lack a strong tax base but everything functions well, with clean streets and parks, etc. I understand why no European in their right mind would ever want to come to live n Canada.
I believe Canada can't and won't solve their problems with massive Immigration. All it seems to do is create more problems. The country just doesn't have the ability to absorb the millions it needs without destroying what it already has or forcing the entire population down to the lowest common denominator. There are sunnier shores and only the most desperate will find Canada better.
