I still think it would be so much better if they have a version that uses ZigBee for data exchange.
Lower battery usage, and no need to worry that someone gets your WiFi password when they steal the device.
I do love Zigbee, but AFAIK the ESP32 chops with support are still in beta. I hope it will be stabilized soon, as I would love an explosion of compatible Zigbee devices.
