It's not actually that complicated, iirc, I have an ansible script to trigger the build based on a 2-line patch. The maintainers proposed a similar patch to Gnome/GTK as a hidden option in dconf, but iirc their dev team took the opinionated 'our way or the highway' approach, as they've done on many other occasions. |
