The opening line "I had to drop out of" frames your whole story with how much not "in control" you are. You are not making decisions, the decisions are being made for you. If you were in control, if you owned your decisions, you would write "I dropped out of [...] because [...]".
Ultimately you only control your own actions, and you can't control (or be responsible for) other people's actions. |
