Reading it now, it really is bringing me back to the excitement of computing and gaming in the 20th century. The classic id games made a huge, huge impact on my life, and I was active in the 90’s Doom scene. I appreciate that although he defends his thought process, he does express that he (and his colleagues) could have maybe approached some problems differently given more wisdom and experience. I can’t imagine having had the success and the pressure they faced in my 20’s. |
