"Web Components are slow. The last thing that’s held Web Components back is that they’re slow… slow, like brisket I like to say. Slow isn’t always a bad thing." Yes it is, it is always a bad thing. It's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it's never good or even neutral. I already have a mental model of the incredibly slow DOM, I don't need another dimension of performance cliffs to think about. Instead of more convoluted web standards, I want fewer, simpler and faster APIs - and may the best abstractions win. |
