I think "confabulation" is a way more accurate term, I wish it had stuck instead of "hallucination". A hallucination is a problem with input. Confabulation is false output. Confabulation is when a person mistakenly recalls details and tries to "fill in the blanks", without realizing what they are saying is untrue. |
