Texas, and other “Southern” states are like this. The people with old power in these places are a special breed. This part of the country seceded in the not-too-distant past, and there are still confederate rallies in Texas to this day. It’s super diverse but all of the power is held by by old-money southern aristocracy. (I am from Texas) |
