It is scientific jargon, yes, though, hm, I would expect any high schooler if not even lower could make at least some sense out of a "spin period" (if not knowing earth rotates, everybody knows a spinner), magnetic field strength (again, compass), age (...)? Luminosity? Also at least the units seconds, years should be known, Gauss is also high school knowledge and straightforward to infer from magnetic.. that this is about some object in space if astronomers observed it is also crystal clear. That's at least half of the sentence :), expectations much too high? |
