I don't see those two ideas being contradictory. After all, what's more cyberpunk than a corporation adopting a child, locking him into a fake ("virtual" seems an appropriate word) reality, and monitoring his every move for their own purposes? The first act of The Matrix is pretty much a condensed Truman Show. |
